With our initiative, we offer rootball Christmas trees that are planted back in the ground in January in a sustainable way so that they will always live in nature. In addition, we also offer trees without a root ball. This is because there are too few rootball trees that can be planted back successfully. For each tree without a root ball, we plant two adoption plants; these are rootball trees that are part of our adoption program and that can be reused and replanted after 5 to 8 years. This initiative was born out of the need to make something more accessible to everyone, inspired by memories of how we used to have a tree in the field and brought it back to nature after Christmas.

We are now moving to Erwin, who is part of our breeding program. All trees are carefully cultivated by us from an early age. From the moment they are just small cuttings, they are placed in pots. In the first year, they stay above the ground to root well in the pot. They are then placed in the ground in a specially developed pot with holes from top to bottom so that the roots can spread well and absorb into the soil. This ensures strong and healthy trees that have a good price-quality ratio.

What makes our project so unique is the awareness we create about how we deal with products, in this case a beautiful piece of nature that we bring into our home. Many people don't realize that a Christmas tree has to grow for 4 to 8 years before it can sit in their home for four weeks.

As soon as the trees are big enough, they are offered with a root ball via our website. Customers can pick up their trees at our pick-up points and in January these trees will be planted again, either on private land or in locations where reforestation is needed. Last year, we started composting Christmas trees. We've converted 15,000 Christmas trees into hallowed ground. For example, we give Christmas trees without a root ball a second life as a raw material for our Christmas tree compost, which converts organic material into nutritious soil.

This project has grown into an enormous passion that we are working on throughout the year, especially in the last quarter of the year. Our mission is to make the Christmas tree more sustainable, so that people can enjoy their Christmas trees for 5 to 8 years without the need for new transport. For example, we are constantly looking for ways to make the Christmas tree more sustainable.
